What are the Requirements for Purchase an SSL Certificate?

The SSL encryption protocol protects sensitive data while it traverses the internet and ensures that it is not viewable by hackers. Adding an SSL Certificate and enabling it on your e commerce site will allow you and your site’s users to log in with the secure “https” protocol instead of the standard “http” prefix.
Dedicated IP Address: -
IP stands for internet protocol, IP address works as the specific address for the data on World Wide Web. The IP address allows a user to access online content like the domain name. The IP address provides a specific connection instruction for the computer. The address of a site is variable and can sometimes change. Usually, these changing addresses are not noticed by users and do not cause any problems. However, a dedicated IP address is required when an SSL certificate is used. A dedicated or permanent IP address prevents fraud and identifies only one location with the security certificate.
Dedicated domain name:-
The second requirement for installing an SSL Certificate on a website is a dedicated domain name. A domain name is the general address of information accessed online. Imagine the SSL Certificate as a key, with the domain being the padlock. Just as a key should only open one lock, an SSL certificate must only have for a single domain name. This protects from fraud.
Often, different websites are located at a single domain name. For example URL names are Mail.dummydomain.com and Help.dummydomain.com may be completely different sites with different purpose. However, both examples use the domaindummydomain.com and thus are not dedicated.
A dedicated domain name means that only one website is associated with a name. The holders of an SSL Certificate must certify that they are the legal owners of the domain name in question. Ownership information for a domain names and SSL certificates must match, or users will be turned away when trying to access the site.
Dedicated Hosting:-
The site most also use dedicated hosting in order for an SSL Certificate to be used. Hosting refers to the actual server which holds the website data. In shared hosting a hosting company hosts many, or all, of their clients on the single server.
A single SSL certificate must only give to a single website. If you want to secure your site with SSL certificate, it should have dedicated hosting. This ensures that no other files are sharing the server space. Most hosting providers are able to move sites to dedicated hosting, by taking higher fees.
